Villagers short of clean water

DEMAK, Central Java: Inhabitants in 31 villages across eight districts are short of clean water due to the dry season.

Wells have dried up and residents are waiting for assistance from the regency administration.

The affected districts are Mranggen, Karangawen, Karangtengah, Sayung, Bonang, Wedung, Gajah and Mijen.

A spokesman from the regency administration urged residents to be patient. He said the distribution of water is limited. (har)
