Villagers cure rash with iodine

CILACAP, Central Java: Dozens of villagers in Cipari subdistrict had to use iodine to cure their skin rashes due to a shortage of medicine in the regency.

The skin rash spread in Cipari following heavy floods that affected nine other villages early this week. About 9,000 people got rashes after their houses were flooded and they used river water for their daily needs.

"It is difficult to find appropriate medicine. The price is also too expensive for us," a villager said yesterday.

Regent Herry Tabri acknowledged that he could not do much to combat the irritation so far. (45)
