Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Kemendes PDT) said village websites can support transparency while improving digital security in the administration of village governments.

“The presence of these websites gives our colleagues in villages a way to present themselves and inspire transparency,” said Ari Indarto Sutjiatmo, head of the ministry’s Data and Information Centre, in remarks at an online socialisation event for the 2027 National Village Website Competition, held in Jakarta on Thursday.

In line with this, the ministry is organising the 2027 National Village Website Competition to recognise villages’ efforts to promote transparency through their websites.

Registration will run from 2 to 13 November 2025 through the competition portal at haridesa.kemendesa.go.id/lombawebsite. Further information is also available there.

The ministry has scheduled the awards ceremony to coincide with the 2027 National Village Day commemorations on 15 January.

Ari said the competition was not simply intended to determine which village was the best, but also to recognise villages’ efforts to introduce themselves through digital platforms.

“This is not about showing off who is better. It is more about how we represent or present our respective villages so that they are better known, both by their own communities and by people outside them,” he said.

According to Ari, the competition also aligns with the broader momentum towards developing digital government.
