Village Official's Wife in Gunungkidul Apologises After Explicit Video Call with Another Man

A woman identified as D, the wife of a village official (dukuh) with the initial M in Kapanewon Tanjungsari, Gunungkidul Regency, has issued a public apology before several community leaders after allegedly being involved in an explicit video call with another man. The apology was made with her husband present. In her statement, D admitted to the act that had become the subject of public discussion and expressed regret. She also promised not to repeat her actions in the future.

The case came to light after screenshots, allegedly from the video call via the WhatsApp application, circulated widely. The spread of the images sparked discussion among residents and caused unease. A number of community figures subsequently facilitated a meeting to resolve the matter amicably. During the forum, D conveyed her apology to the community and requested that such an issue not recur.

Tanjungsari Police Chief AKP Agus Fitriyatna confirmed the incident but stated that no police officers were present during the recording of the apology video. He noted the case was settled amicably and no official report was filed with the police.

Meanwhile, Tanjungsari Sub-district Head Sri Intiyastuti confirmed the incident occurred in Kalurahan Kemiri. She noted that while the individual is an ordinary citizen, her status as the wife of a dukuh attracted particular public attention. Sri stated there is a procedure for imposing sanctions, which will consider the individual’s involvement and the community’s perspective, adding that the process will determine whether the case stands alone or involves other factors.
