Bung Hatta said that Indonesia will never shine, never be brightly lit with one torch at Monas, but Indonesia will be brightly lit with the small candles that are in the villages.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister for Villages and Underdeveloped Regions (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto hopes that the All-Indonesia Village Government Officials Association (Papdesi) through the organisation of its Second National Conference (Munas) II can produce recommendations to successfully implement the government’s priority programmes.

“With this second Munas, we await its recommendations, what they are, then we will convey them to stakeholders or policymakers,” said Minister Yandri in his speech at the Papdesi Munas II held at the Ministry of Villages and Underdeveloped Regions office, Jakarta, on Monday.

Those recommendations, he continued, are expected to ensure that all of President Prabowo Subianto’s programmes are truly implemented well and their benefits are felt by the people in the villages.

Furthermore, Minister Yandri gave examples that villages across the country can successfully implement the MBG Programme by transforming into thematic villages, such as egg-laying chicken villages, tilapia villages, fruit villages or vegetable villages.

It is known that the realisation of thematic villages is aimed at optimising the development and construction of villages, in accordance with the potentials they possess. For example, a village with tilapia fish potential will be developed into a tilapia-producing village.

“Bung Hatta said that Indonesia will never shine, never be brightly lit with one torch at Monas, but Indonesia will be brightly lit with the small candles that are in the villages,” said Minister Yandri Susanto.

In line with that, Minister Yandri also invited all parties, especially Papdesi, to collaborate in successfully implementing various government priority programmes, particularly those aimed at improving the welfare of village communities.
