Village Head in Serang Claims Methamphetamine Use Was to Boost Work Performance

The Head of Undar Andir Village in Serang Regency, Khusni (34), has been arrested by the Banten Regional Police in connection with a narcotics case. He claimed that he consumed drugs as a work stimulant.

Khusni had been consuming narcotics since 2019. He was elected as village head in 2021.

“Initially it was just trial and error, after that he became addicted and it continued until he had used methamphetamine several times,” said the Director of Narcotics Investigation of the Banten Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Wiwin Setiawan, on Friday (28/8/2026).

Wiwin stated that the village head consumed methamphetamine as a work stimulant. However, according to Wiwin, this assumption is incorrect.

“The person concerned stated that he used methamphetamine as a work stimulant,” he said.

As previously reported, the Head of Public Relations of the Banten Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Maruli Ahiles Hutapea, explained that police initially received information regarding narcotics distribution and arrested DA on Friday (21/8) on Jalan Lingkar Selatan, Serang Regency, at around 5.10 p.m. Western Indonesian Time.

Based on information from DA, Sub-Directorate III of the Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the Banten Regional Police arrested Khusni (KH) in a minimarket car park near Kramatwatu Square, Serang Regency, at 6.30 p.m. Western Indonesian Time.

“No narcotics evidence was found on KH, but the results of a urine test showed positive for amphetamines,” said Maruli on Friday (28/8/2026).

Furthermore, police managed to apprehend another dealer with the initials RR at 6.47 p.m. Western Indonesian Time at a billiards venue in the Kramatwatu area, Serang Regency.
