Warkah Jalu has been reported to the police regarding the alleged assault of a resident named Sugaianto, also known as Ogi, in the Sambi Rampas District, East Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Warkah is identified as the Village Head (Kades) of Nanga Mbaur in Sambi Rampas, East Manggarai.

The victim was allegedly assaulted while purchasing a goat on the roadside in Kampung Mberu, Pota Village, Sambi Rampas, on 10 April. The report regarding the alleged assault is currently being handled by the East Manggarai Police Resort.

The Head of Criminal Investigation at East Manggarai Police, Inspector Ahmad Zacky Shodri, revealed that the results of the Visum et Repertum (VeR) showed no signs of violence on the victim’s body. Nevertheless, the police have scheduled a case review as a continuation of the legal process regarding the alleged assault.

“The VeR results show no signs of violence. We still need to conduct a case review to determine the continuation of the criminal process after summoning all involved parties,” said Zacky on Saturday (23/5/2026).

Zacky explained that the alleged assault began when Ogi and two others, NP and ZO, arrived at the scene in a pickup truck. ZO is Ogi’s younger brother. They had arrived to purchase a goat. Investigators have already questioned both the reporter and the reported party. Ogi claimed that he was initially sitting facing the highway while using his mobile phone upon arrival at the scene. NP and ZO were sitting behind him, negotiating the price of the goat with the owner.

It was at that moment that Warkah allegedly appeared suddenly and assaulted Ogi. Warkah arrived in a car. According to Ogi’s testimony, Warkah repeatedly struck him on the head with both hands while shouting insults.

“The reporter explained that the reported party entered and immediately approached the reporter, striking him repeatedly with both hands,” stated Zacky.

On the other hand, Warkah denies assaulting Ogi. He claims his presence at the scene was intended to meet an individual with the initials M to purchase a cow belonging to M. Warkah claims he was unaware of the presence of Ogi, NP, and ZO.

“The reported party explained that at the same time, he saw his brother, Sugianto, and Sugianto immediately took a stance, preparing to resist and fight the reported party,” explained Zacky.

Warkah, who was startled, claims he spontaneously grabbed a piece of kedondong wood from a goat pen to defend himself against a potential attack from Ogi. The tense situation was eventually defused by M, who instructed the reporter to run away.
