Village head faces 8 months in jail
BOGOR (JP): Prosecutor Laode Halipo has asked Bogor District Court to sentence Baranangsiang village head E. Herdian to eight months in jail for falsifying ownership documents for a 1,182- square-meter plot of land.
Laode said that Herdian, 51, was guilty of issuing the document stating that the land was owned by Miftah Yudhi Hermawan, even though the title to land was held by Yalis Bachtiar.
"The document was issued at the request of Miftah, who wanted to sell the land to Achmad Subyo," he told the court on Friday, adding that the accused had also forged a transaction letter and the title to the site.
Miftah then sold the land to Achmad for Rp 300 million (US$40,000) using the fake documents.
"The land transaction certificate was issued by East Bogor district head Idih Oco Mihardja," Laode said.
Achmad set up a notice board at the site declaring that the land belonged to him.
"When Yaris saw this he was shocked and immediately reported the case to the police," Laode added.
The trial was adjourned until Wednesday. (24/hhr)
