Village Development Collaboration is Crucial for Strengthening Public Services
Strengthening the capacity of village governments is a vital factor in driving equitable development at the grassroots level. Beyond human resources, the availability of adequate public service facilities plays a key role in improving service quality and supporting the effectiveness of village governance. Consequently, collaboration between the government, the community, and the business sector is considered essential to accelerate the development of infrastructure that provides direct benefits to citizens.
This commitment is reflected in the inauguration of the Sungai Payang Ilir Village Office in the Loa Kulu District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, which was constructed through a collaboration between PT Multi Harapan Utama (MHU), the village government, the community, and the company’s partners. The construction of the village office was supported through the Community Development and Empowerment Programme (PPM) implemented by the company as part of its efforts to strengthen public services in the areas surrounding its operations.
The President Director of Multi Harapan Utama, Kemal Djamil Siregar, stated that the development of social infrastructure is part of the company’s commitment to providing tangible benefits to the community. “For MHU, the presence of the company must provide real benefits to the community. A village office is not merely a physical building, but a service centre and a shared space that supports village progress. We hope this facility can be utilised effectively to support public services and development activities in Sungai Payang Ilir,” said Kemal.
He added that the facility is expected to assist the village government in providing more optimal services while supporting various local development programmes. The inauguration of the Sungai Payang Ilir Village Office marks the third public facility built by the company in less than a year, following the completion of the Jembayan Dalam Public Meeting Hall and the Jembayan Tengah Village Office.
The Regent of Kutai Kartanegara, Dr Aulia Rahman Basri, appreciated the synergy between the local government, the community, and the private sector in supporting regional development. “Collaboration between the government, the business world, and the community is the key to successful regional development. I appreciate MHU’s commitment to continuous support for community development and empowerment. The presence of such public facilities will provide real benefits and support sustainable development in Kutai Kartanegara,” he stated.
In addition to the inauguration, the event included a tree-planting activity to coincide with World Environment Day. This activity symbolises a shared commitment to maintaining the balance between economic development and environmental preservation. The company’s efforts in supporting social development have previously received national recognition, with its Equality Education Programme (Packages A, B, and C) winning the Indonesia Best CSR Awards 2026.
