Vietnam's trade deficit nears $2b

HANOI: Vietnam's trade deficit hit US$1.96 billion in the
first five months of the year, preliminary figures showed on
Wednesday.

Exports during the period rose 17.4 percent to $9.55 billion,
while imports increased 13 percent to $11.51 billion, according
to the General Statistics Office. -- AFP
