Vietnam's Phieu to visit France

HANOI (Reuters): Vietnam Communist Party chief Le Kha Phieu will visit France next month, French Finance Minister Dominique Strauss-Kahn said in Hanoi on Friday.

Strauss-Kahn, who arrived in Hanoi late on Thursday, told a news conference that details of Phieu's visit were being worked out, but that it was likely to be at the end of November.

Earlier on Friday, Strauss-Kahn signed a deal to fund a water project in the country's south and also witnessed the inking of an agreement to help vocational training in Vietnam.

Strauss-Kahn was likely to depart the former French colony over the weekend, officials have said.
