Vietnam's Green Economy to Contribute Over 10% to GDP by 2030
Hanoi (ANTARA) - Vietnam’s green economy is projected to contribute over 10% to the gross domestic product (GDP) and create hundreds of thousands of new jobs by 2030, according to the Vietnam News Agency on Monday (25 May). The projections were announced at the launch of the Smart Landscape & Healthy Living Expo 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, southern Vietnam. The event showcased various clean energy and sustainable urban development solutions and technological innovations, according to the report. Nguyen Thu Phong, vice president of the Vietnam Architects Association, said rapid urbanisation is driving increased demand for environmentally friendly and healthy living conditions. The integration of urban design and advanced technologies also opens new pathways for high-quality urban development. Phong emphasised that offshore wind power projects, green hydrogen development, and smart urban areas present significant opportunities for the advancement of green technology, the Internet of Things, clean energy, and sustainable building materials.
