KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs
Nguyen Dy Nien has arrived in Malaysia, airport officials said on
Sunday.
Nien was met on arrival by his Malaysian counterpart Syed
Hamid Albar, an official said. This is Nien's first visit to
Malaysia since taking up his post in January.
Nien is to stay in Malaysia until Tuesday before continuing to
Brunei and the Philippines.
The three countries are partners of Vietnam in the Association
of Southeast Asian Nations but they all have territorial disputes
with Hanoi over the Spratly Islands, an archipelago in the South
China Sea also claimed by China and Taiwan.
