Vietnamese fishermen arrested on Batam
BATAM, Riau: The Navy on Batam Island has detained 29 Vietnamese fishermen and two fishing ships for having necessary documents to fish on the Natuna waters.
Col. Bambang Soewarto, chief of the Tanjungpinang naval base, said here on Thursday that the Vietnamese fishermen and their vessels were arrested when they fishing on the Natuna waters recently.
"The two vessels and all crew members were brought to Tanjungpinang for further investigation before being brought to court," he said. --Antara
