Vietnamese Doctor Deported for Practising on Visit Visa

The Directorate General of Immigration, through the South Jakarta Special Class I Non-TPI Immigration Office, has detained a Vietnamese national, identified by the initials TAT, for immigration violations. The individual was found to be working as a dentist while utilising a visit permit (ITK).

According to reports, TAT was residing in Indonesia under a visit permit. However, during surveillance conducted by officers, the individual was suspected of abusing the permit by practising dentistry at a clinic located in the Ciputat area.

When the immigration enforcement and investigation team conducted an inspection at the site, TAT initially claimed to be a patient seeking treatment at the clinic. However, following field inspections and fact-gathering by officers, it was revealed that TAT was a medical professional providing services at the clinic.

Officers subsequently brought TAT to the South Jakarta Special Class I Non-TPI Immigration Office for further investigation. It was confirmed that the permit used was for activities inconsistent with the original purpose of the visa.

Winarko, Head of the South Jakarta Special Class I Non-TPI Immigration Office, emphasised that administrative immigration action in the form of deportation has been taken. Immigration has also placed TAT on a blacklist.
