Vietnam Welcomes 14 Million Tourist Visits During Lunar New Year Holiday
Hanoi (ANTARA) - Vietnam welcomed approximately 14 million tourists during the nine-day Lunar New Year holiday from 14 to 22 February, representing a 12 per cent increase compared to the previous year.
According to the Vietnam News Agency on Monday, the southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City recorded the highest number of visits at approximately 4.32 million people, with tourism sector revenue reaching 12,150 billion Vietnamese dong (100 Vietnamese dong = Rp65).
Other destinations that attracted large numbers of tourists included Vietnam’s capital Hanoi, the provinces of Ninh Binh and Quang Ninh in the northern region, Da Nang City in the central region, and An Giang Province in the southern region.
Vietnam is targeting 25 million international tourist visits and 150 million domestic tourist visits in 2026.
