JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Vietnam, through Vietnam Electricity, is studying hydrogen development in Indonesia. The company visited the Hydrogen Center Senayan managed by PLN Indonesia Power.

The visit took place on Thursday (2/4/2026). This agenda is part of the Exchange and Learning Programme between EVN-PLN Indonesia and its subsidiaries.

The EVN delegation was represented, among others, by Deputy Director of Phu My Thermal Power Company EVNGENCO3 Le Vu Trung and Deputy Director of the Operation Services Centre EVNGENCO3 Nguyen Xuan Hai.

This agenda is seen as a momentum to strengthen cooperation in developing energy innovations and improving power plant efficiency.

“Collaboration with international partners such as EVN is an important step to accelerate the adoption of innovations, enhance capabilities, and strengthen Indonesia’s role in the global sustainable energy ecosystem,” he said in a written statement on Thursday (9/4/2026).

Manager of Engineering at PLN Indonesia Power’s Priok Power Generation Business Unit, Ary Rachmat, stated that this visit encourages the exchange of knowledge and experience.

This step aligns with the commitment to developing clean technology, including hydrogen.

“Through this benchmarking, we hope to strengthen the exchange of knowledge and experience, while also driving the acceleration of hydrogen technology implementation as part of the transformation of power plants towards a more efficient and sustainable energy system,” said Ary.

Vice President of Decarbonisation Business Development and Energy Management at PLN, Ricky Cahya Andrian, stated that hydrogen development is part of the decarbonisation strategy.

“PLN continues to promote the development of the hydrogen ecosystem as one of the clean and efficient future energy solutions, while also opening up global collaboration opportunities to accelerate its implementation in Indonesia,” said Ricky.
