Vietnam ready to build first nuclear power plant with Russian assistance
Moscow (ANTARA) - Russia and Vietnam have officially signed an intergovernmental agreement regarding cooperation in building the first nuclear power plant (NPP) in Vietnam. The signing ceremony took place in Moscow on Monday (23/3), following talks between Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The agreement was signed by Alexey Likhachev, head of Russia’s national nuclear company Rosatom, and Tran Van Son, head of the Vietnamese Government Office. The Russian Prime Minister also noted that agreements between Russian and Vietnamese oil and gas companies could drive joint projects to develop oil and gas fields in both countries.
