Vietnam plans car rally
HANOI (AFP): Vietnam plans to run a car rally along the
historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, a report said yesterday.
Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet has given the green light to a
1,400 kilometer road race running from Hanoi to the Binh Phuoc
province in the south.
The Ho Chi Minh Trail was blazed through the jungles of
Vietnam and Laos during the Vietnam war to supply communist
troops fighting in the South.
The event is scheduled to take place in January and is
expected to attract world class drivers representing Ford, Toyota
and Suburu, the Thanh Nien newspaper said.
