Vietjet opens direct Jakarta-Da Nang flight route
Jakarta — Vietnamese airline Vietjet has announced the opening of a new direct flight route linking Jakarta, Indonesia with Da Nang, a popular coastal destination in central Vietnam.
In an official statement in Jakarta on Sunday, Vietjet assessed that the route would provide more travel options for Indonesian tourists to explore central Vietnam whilst strengthening connectivity between Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Southeast Asian region.
The Jakarta-Da Nang route is scheduled to commence operations on 29 April 2026, with a frequency of five round-trip flights weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The schedule for flight VJ950 from Jakarta (CGK) to Da Nang (DAD) departs at 18:20 and arrives at 22:05, whilst flight VJ951 from Da Nang (DAD) to Jakarta (CGK) departs at 13:25 and arrives at 17:20 local time.
With the launch of this new route, Vietjet now operates five routes connecting Indonesia and Vietnam, including services linking Jakarta and Bali with Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
This direct route is expected to further stimulate tourism growth between the two nations. Beyond facilitating Indonesian tourists visiting Vietnam, the new connectivity also opens opportunities for Vietnamese tourists to explore various destinations in Indonesia, thereby strengthening tourism exchange between both countries.
Da Nang is an area offering a unique blend of natural beauty, culture, and distinctive cuisine. The city is renowned for white sandy beaches such as My Khe Beach, its proximity to UNESCO World Heritage sites including Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary, and various iconic destinations such as Ba Na Hills with its famous Golden Bridge.
In addition to the Jakarta-Da Nang service, Vietjet will also launch a new Nha Trang-Singapore route beginning 1 June 2026.
