Vietjet Opens Direct Flight between Jakarta and Da Nang, Vietnam's Coastal City
Vietjet, a next-generation airline from Vietnam, continues to expand its aviation network across Southeast Asia by launching a new international route connecting Jakarta and Da Nang, one of Vietnam’s most popular coastal destinations. This new service makes Vietjet the first and only airline operating direct flights between Jakarta and Da Nang, bringing the two cities just a few hours’ flight apart.
This route offers more travel options for Indonesian tourists to explore the charm of central Vietnam whilst strengthening connectivity between Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Southeast Asian region.
The Jakarta–Da Nang route is scheduled to commence operations on 29 April 2026, with a frequency of five weekly return flights on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. With the launch of this new route, Vietjet now operates five routes connecting Indonesia and Vietnam, including services linking Jakarta and Bali with Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, providing more travel options for both tourists and business travellers in both countries.

As one of Vietnam’s most renowned coastal cities, Da Nang offers a unique blend of natural beauty, culture, and distinctive cuisine. The city is renowned for its white sandy beaches such as My Khe Beach, its proximity to UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary, and various iconic destinations such as Ba Na Hills with its famous Golden Bridge. With the arrival of direct flights from Jakarta, Indonesian tourists can now enjoy this destination with easier and more comfortable travel.
With increasing interest among Indonesian tourists in exploring new destinations across Southeast Asia, this direct route is expected to further boost tourism growth between the two countries. Beyond facilitating Indonesian tourists’ visits to Vietnam, this new connectivity also creates opportunities for Vietnamese tourists to explore various destinations in Indonesia, thereby strengthening tourism exchange between both nations.
In addition to the Jakarta–Da Nang service, Vietjet will also launch a new Nha Trang–Singapore route from 1 June 2026, further expanding Vietjet’s aviation network across Southeast Asia.
During flights, passengers can enjoy various authentic Vietnamese dishes that are fresh and hot such as pho, banh mi, and Vietnamese milk coffee, served by Vietjet’s professional cabin crew aboard modern and fuel-efficient aircraft.
