Video: With War Ongoing, Logistics Entrepreneurs Request No Fuel Price Hike - Stocks Secure
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The high global uncertainty is also felt in Indonesia’s logistics sector, along with the surge in global energy prices that have a significant connection to the logistics industry.
The Chairman of the Indonesian Logistics Association (ALI), Mahendra Rianto, appreciates the government’s efforts to maintain the stability of energy supplies and prices, particularly fuel oil (BBM). This needs to be done considering that when energy prices rise, logistics costs will also surge, which will drive up the inflation rate and impact Indonesia’s economy.
Currently, Indonesia’s logistics costs are still very high at 14.29% of Indonesia’s GDP, mainly related to transportation costs, so when fuel prices rise and purchasing power is pressured, the economy will be affected.
ALI also hopes for a quick response from the government in ensuring guarantees for fuel stocks and distribution so as not to impact the logistics sector. So, how resilient is the logistics sector amid the Middle East war? For more details, watch the dialogue between Dina Gurning and the Chairman of the Indonesian Logistics Association (ALI), Mahendra Rianto, in Focus On Infra, CNBC Indonesia (Tuesday, 31/03/2026).
