Coordinating Minister for the Economy of Indonesia, Airlangga Hartarto, has outlined the energy pricing policy in Indonesia amid rising global crude oil and avtur prices. Airlangga assured that subsidised fuel prices will not rise until the end of 2026 as long as the average global crude oil price remains above USD 97 per barrel. Meanwhile, regarding the global avtur price in Indonesia which reached Rp23,000 as of 1 April 2026, to maintain business continuity and ensure affordable air ticket prices, the government is adjusting the fuel surcharge to an increase of 38%, although the maximum air ticket price rise will be 9-13%.
