Video: Welcoming EV Incentives, Businessman Ready to Boost Sales
PT Terang Dunia Internusa Tbk (UNTD) President Director Stephen Mulyadi stated that the massive development of electric vehicle (EV) technology in China is the reason UNTD is collaborating with China in developing its electric motorcycle business. In an effort to increase the Domestic Component Level (TKDN), the company continues to push for local raw material supply and reduce dependence on Chinese imports. Currently, the comprehensive assembly process, manufacturing of electric motorcycle frames, and production of electric batteries have begun domestically. Business players also expect the Indonesian government’s support in developing the EV industry, including regulatory certainty and certainty regarding the planned incentive of 100,000 units for electric motorcycles and cars in 2026, as this relates to public interest in purchasing electric vehicles. Amid global geopolitical turmoil, the weakening of the Rupiah exchange rate is also impacting the EV industry due to the rising price of imported raw materials.
