Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Central Java Provincial Government has confirmed its support for President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programme to boost national economic growth to 8% by 2029. Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi stated that a key factor for regional governments in driving economic growth is collaboration between the provincial government and 35 regencies and cities integrated with the central government. This involves mapping regional flagship products, boosting investment amid fiscal constraints and global geopolitical volatility. The provincial government offers investors security and legal assurances, streamlined permitting processes, vocational education for workforce development, and enhanced local labour competitiveness. Central Java is also developing the northern coastal (Pantura) economic and manufacturing corridor through projects such as the Batang Integrated Industrial Zone, Kendal Special Economic Zone, Wijayakusuma and Terboyo Industrial Zones, supported by infrastructure upgrades including the Giant Sea Wall project. Additionally, the province aims to develop 12 new industrial zones in Cilacap, Demak and Sragen as new economic drivers and to promote balanced regional economic development.
