Video: Unit Link Mis-Selling Causes Rp 790 Billion Losses, Here's the Culprit!

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Records show around 5,888 cases of complaints regarding alleged mis-selling practices in the marketing of Investment-Linked Insurance Products (PAYDI) or Unit Link from 2020 to 2025, with losses reaching Rp 790 billion.

AIA Financial’s Director of Legal and Compliance, Rista Qatrini Manurung, stated that the rampant mis-selling cases are causing negative perceptions of the insurance industry among the public. Therefore, special handling efforts and collaboration among stakeholders are needed to mitigate and resolve this issue.

Rista Manurung also analysed that the biggest cause of customer complaints about Unit Link products is due to mis-selling. Additionally, this occurs due to contributions from insurance companies, sales agents, and customers themselves.
