The US Department of Commerce has officially imposed countervailing duties on imports of solar cells and panels from India, Indonesia, and Laos. This policy is intended to counter government subsidies deemed harmful to the US solar industry.

Meanwhile, a day before US and Iranian negotiators meet, the US government has issued a new wave of sanctions against Iran, targeting vessels allegedly selling Iranian oil to fund the country’s ballistic missile program.
