Video: To Prevent Food Poisoning in MBG, MBG Kitchens Strengthen Supervision

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Chairman of the Indonesian Association of Free Nutritious Meal Entrepreneurs and Managers (APPMBGI), Abdul Rivai Ras, has assured that MBG kitchens are taking steps to guarantee nutritional standards in their production, thus preventing a recurrence of food poisoning incidents.

APPMBGI data shows that currently, 52.2% of MBG kitchens meet the required kitchen standards. To accelerate the fulfilment of these standards, APPMBGI is providing support. To prevent food poisoning, a concept for the supply of raw materials that meet quality standards and pass quality control will be established through collaboration between APPMBGI and the government, including Bulog and Bappenas.

On the other hand, MBG kitchens are said to contribute 2% to the MBG programme, with the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (SPPG) empowering the local economy through various food transactions, although this sometimes leads to shortages of certain food commodities. Therefore, APPMBGI encourages SPPGI to have its own supply chain so as not to disrupt stocks in the market.
