The CEO of SolarKita, Amarangga Lubis, is optimistic about the prospects for national renewable energy development, including the solar photovoltaic (PV) sector, in line with government support to accelerate the new and renewable energy (EBT) transition programme. On the other hand, the development of solar PV, including rooftop solar focused on the private and residential sectors, still faces challenges related to low public awareness regarding the advantages of rooftop solar. Additionally, local content requirement (TKDN) policies, dependence on imported raw materials, and supply chain disruptions for components present further challenges for solar panel providers. Nevertheless, the continuous decline in the price per kilowatt-peak (kWp) of rooftop solar, alongside the strengthening of the domestic raw material supply chain, is expected to drive the adoption of rooftop solar systems.
