President Prabowo Subianto presented the macro-fiscal posture of the 2027 KEM-PPKF in his state address accompanying the introduction of the 2027 State Budget Draft, along with the Financial Note and supporting documents, during a plenary session of the House of Representatives in Jakarta.

For 2027, the government is targeting economic growth of 5.8%–6.5%, inflation of 1.5%–3.5%, a rupiah exchange rate of Rp16,800–17,500 per US dollar, and a 10-year government bond yield of 6.5%–7.3%.

Assessing the 2027 macro-fiscal posture, Sucor Sekuritas Chief Executive Officer Bernadus Widjaya considers the economic growth target of around 6% to be fairly conservative and quite realistic for the government to achieve.

Regarding the rupiah exchange rate assumption, Bernadus views the figure of Rp17,500 as quite realistic given a number of government projects that could potentially attract foreign capital inflows to Indonesia, such as the development of the Indonesian Financial Centre in Bali, as well as the fiscal deficit target set at 1.8%–2.4% of GDP.

Nevertheless, the market is still monitoring the progress of the government’s flagship programmes, including the MBH programme and Kopdes Merah Putih, with hopes for improvements and greater project efficiency in 2027 so that the fiscal position remains better safeguarded.
