Video: Rupiah Volatility Due to Iran-US War, Medical Equipment Prices at Risk of Rising
The rupiah exchange rate is experiencing considerable pressure amid sentiments from the Middle East war, causing the Garuda currency to plummet to Rp16,990 per US dollar during trading on 31 March 2026. This weakening of the rupiah is also impacting domestic industries that still rely on imported raw materials, one of which is the medical equipment industry. Watch the full dialogue between Maria Katarina and Charles Effendy, Deputy Chairman of the Industry and Production Division at Gakeslab, in Closing Bell, CNBC Indonesia (Tuesday, 31/03/2026).
