Video: Rupiah Plummets to Lowest Level, US Dollar Hits Rp 17,300

The rupiah’s exchange rate against the US dollar continued to deepen on Thursday’s trading (23/4/2026). According to Refinitiv data, at 09:32 WIB, the Garuda currency was recorded weakening by 0.79% to Rp 17,305 per USD. This level also became the rupiah’s weakest position ever on an intraday basis. Moreover, this weakening marked the rupiah breaking through a new psychological level at Rp 17,300 per USD. This movement indicates that pressure on the rupiah has persisted since the start of trading. Previously, the rupiah had opened 0.23% weaker at Rp 17,210 per USD.
