Video: Rivers Drying Up, Fish Dying, and Coal Barges Halted
The Kapuas River in West Kalimantan is experiencing a drastic reduction in water discharge due to a prolonged drought over the past four months. This condition has hindered the navigation of several coal transport barges.
Drought conditions are also becoming increasingly alarming in Pati Regency, Central Java. The Karet Dam on the Juwana River, located in Bungasrejo Village, Jakenan District, which had previously suffered leaks, is now completely dry, causing thousands of armoured catfish to perish at the bottom of the dam.
