Video: Regulators to Bankers Discuss the Direction of Indonesia’s Food Self-Sufficiency Dream

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Currently, the global food and agriculture sector is facing challenges in the supply chain, amid ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. Indonesia must also remain vigilant, given that the agriculture sector is one of the main contributors to Indonesia’s economy and the largest absorber of labour. Moreover, Indonesia is targeted to achieve food sovereignty by 2029.

To that end, CNBC Indonesia, supported by Bank DBS Indonesia, held a Coffee Morning event on 28 April 2026, featuring stakeholders in the food and agriculture sector to review Indonesia’s food self-sufficiency targets as well as the various challenges and strategies needed to realise this, including from a financing perspective.
