President Prabowo has officially announced the formation of a specialised State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) for the export of strategic commodities, namely coal, CPO, and ferroalloy, in an effort to strengthen the nation’s foreign exchange reserves amidst global volatility.

The General Chairman of APKASINDO, Gulat Manurung, noted that PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) should have been established last year to manage the vast potential of the palm oil sector.

On the other hand, the Executive Director of Palm Oil Agribusiness Strategy Policy, Tungkot Sipayung, stated that the formation of an SOE aimed at addressing ‘under-invoicing’ and ‘transfer pricing’ issues, while simultaneously encouraging Indonesia’s role in shaping palm oil commodity prices and ensuring export proceeds (DHE) enter the country, is highly appropriate. To overcome various problems and fraudulent activities in the palm oil sector, technological support is required as an anticipatory and supervisory measure.
