Video: Prabowo to Establish Integrated National Schools, What are the Differences?
The administration of President Prabowo, through the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, has inaugurated the Integrated National School (SNT) programme. These will serve as flagship non-boarding schools, with a launch planned across 17 regencies and cities during the 2026-2027 period.
The SNT will integrate junior high school (SMP) and senior high school (SMA) levels into a single, continuous learning ecosystem. Chacha Annisa, an expert from the Indonesian Government Communication Agency, stated that the development of SNT is a manifestation of President Prabowo’s support for national education as part of the journey towards Indonesia Emas 2045.
The SNT programme is designed to complement existing educational initiatives, including school revitalisation programmes, Sekolah Garuda, and Sekolah Rakyat. The SNT is being built to improve the educational ecosystem by acting as an educational hub; it will provide free education for high-achieving students and offer training opportunities for teachers in the surrounding areas.
