Jakarta – CNBC Indonesia – President Prabowo Subianto will deliver the Macro Economic Framework and Core Policies of Fiscal Policy (KEM-PPKF) for the 2027 RAPBN before the 19th Plenary Session of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) in the Fifth Session of the 2025-2026 Legislative Year.

Prabowo said that Indonesia is currently facing global economic and geopolitical challenges, and therefore the Government is responsible for the welfare of the Indonesian people. Accordingly, the RAPBN serves as a tool to protect the people and their welfare.

The KEM-PPKF RAPBN 2027 targets revenue at 11.82%–12.40% of GDP to support priority programmes, with the budget deficit (APBN) reaching 1.8%–2.4% of GDP. The Rupiah is targeted at Rp 16,800–Rp 17,500 per US dollar, with economic growth targeted at 5.8%–6.5%.

In addition, Prabowo conveyed the state of Indonesia’s economy in 2026 in the face of global economic volatility and geopolitics. One of the government’s flagship programmes is 5,000 Fishermen Villages within the next three years, which will be equipped with ice facilities. He also urged improvements in teachers’ welfare.

The Government is also pushing for the management and sovereignty of the seas; Indonesia is currently the world’s largest exporter of coal, palm oil and ferro-alloy (iron alloy), with exports reaching Rp 1,100 trillion per year, but the government revenue-to-GDP ratio, or the country’s tax ratio, lags behind the Philippines and Mexico.

Prabowo also highlighted the trend of declining middle-class numbers and rising poverty.
