Video: Prabowo Forms New State-Owned Enterprise - Purbaya: No New Taxes

Jakarta – CNBC Indonesia – President Prabowo Subianto has formally announced the creation of a state-owned enterprise (SOE) dedicated to exports. In a plenary session of the DPR RI, the president stated that all sales of strategic natural resources, such as coal and palm oil, must pass through this body as the sole exporter. The move is intended to strengthen SDA governance and close leaks in the state’s foreign exchange earnings.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa offered optimism to the public by confirming there will be no new taxes or tax-rate increases in 2027. Although the government has set a high growth target, the minister emphasised that the primary focus currently is to safeguard household purchasing power and keep it stable without being burdened by aggressive fiscal policy.
