Video: Perumnas' Strategy to Tackle Backlog and Build Affordable Urban Housing

The Acting President Director of Perum Perumnas, Imelda Alini Pohan, has affirmed the state-owned housing developer’s role in providing adequate housing and settlements to address the housing backlog, which currently stands at 9.9 million units. Perumnas is also promoting the provision of affordable housing for low-income communities (MBR) by supporting easy access to financing. Since its establishment, Perumnas has built more than 1 million housing units for MBR, both subsidised and non-subsidised, complete with supporting infrastructure. The government is currently encouraging the development of subsidised housing in urban areas amidst limited land availability and rising land prices. In response, Perumnas is developing vertical housing with a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) concept, both subsidised and non-subsidised, located near train stations and TransJakarta bus stops to facilitate resident mobility.
