BPI Danantara has officially appointed Pahala N Mansury as Managing Director of Global Relations and Communications, tasked with improving public perception and the confidence of all stakeholders in Danantara’s role, duties and performance in driving sustainable economic growth.
Pahala N Mansury also continues to promote public understanding of the management of SOE assets and businesses carried out by Danantara. Unlike before, Danantara, as the shareholder of SOEs, can now directly manage them in matters of transformation, capital injection, mergers, and even the closure of SOE companies.
Within a single SOE ecosystem, Danantara also holds an investment arm, meaning that SOE dividends received by Danantara can be used by Danantara Investment Management to make direct investments in strategic sectors for the Indonesian economy.
Pahala assured that the management of SOEs within the Danantara ecosystem — through Danantara Asset Management (DAM), Danantara Investment Management (DIM), and the Danantara Development Management Fund (DDMF) — is aimed at fostering SOE business development that positively impacts the Indonesian people, with investments spanning the food sector, renewable energy, and healthcare.
One sector that is a focus of Danantara’s management is strengthening Indonesia’s food and protein sector. Danantara is investing USD 2.5 billion, or around Rp 44 trillion, in JBS NV, a giant meat-processing company from Brazil, aimed at developing protein businesses such as meat, fish and poultry in Indonesia.
This cooperation involves developing protein production facilities in Indonesia, which is expected to boost production capacity as well as the domestic food protein supply chain.
In its investments, Danantara ensures that the relevant sectors have healthy growth prospects and profitability while also accelerating Indonesia’s economic growth.
