Video of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu Drinking Coffee is AI-Generated, Says Content Creator
Content creator and videographer Ryan Matta, based in the United States, has stated that video footage showing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu purchasing coffee is likely the result of artificial intelligence manipulation.
The video of Netanyahu buying coffee was uploaded to his official social media account. The upload is believed to have been intended to dispel speculation regarding Netanyahu’s condition or whereabouts following his prolonged absence from public view.
Through the coffee shop video, Netanyahu also appeared to want to refute claims made by several internet users who had previously alleged that his speech videos were AI-generated.
In the coffee shop video, Netanyahu is seen holding a cup of cappuccino whilst looking towards the camera. He then states that he would like to enjoy a cup of coffee.
However, YouTuber and videographer Ryan Matta has stated that the video is the result of artificial intelligence manipulation.
In his video, Matta presented his analysis after examining Netanyahu’s footage using the Videoleap video editing application.
According to Matta, the video contains several visual irregularities that cause him to doubt its authenticity.
“There are three or four things which I believe clearly demonstrate that this video is AI,” Matta stated in his video.
He highlighted several details that he considered unnatural, one of which concerns the coffee cup which appears to move but does not spill liquid despite appearing to overflow at the edges.
“I attempted to show the movement of the cup because it appears to overflow at the sides, but you do not see it spill, which I find quite odd,” said Matta.
Additionally, he highlighted changes in the visual details of the coffee’s surface and the design on the cup which he believed appeared to change suddenly.
According to Matta, the pattern on the cup appeared to become more defined suddenly when positioned near Netanyahu’s face.
“Look at that change? The design suddenly becomes almost perfect. Very clear and clean, like it has just come out of a Starbucks cup,” said Matta.
