Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Mount Anak Krakatau has once again shown significant volcanic activity. The volcano, located in the Sunda Strait between Banten and Lampung, has in fact been on Level III or Alert status since 2 July 2026. At that time, the Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources raised the status of Mount Anak Krakatau from Level II or Watch to Level III Alert, based on analysis and evaluation of the mountain’s activity.

Some time later, in mid-July, its activity briefly showed a tendency to ease. The head of the Banten Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) said at the time that a number of indicators had begun to decline, although the mountain’s status remained at Level III.
