Video: Misbakhun on Indonesia's Homework to Make Foreign Investors "Comfortable"
Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto’s administration is opening wide opportunities for foreign investment to enter Indonesia as part of efforts to drive economic growth and create employment for Indonesian citizens.
Mukhamad Misbakhun, Chair of Commission XI of the House of Representatives, expressed optimism about Indonesia’s prospects in attracting foreign investment. However, he noted that several challenges remain regarding the creation of a conducive investment climate that would allow foreign investment to feel “comfortable” in Indonesia.
This relates to government efforts to provide fiscal incentives to facilitate and attract investment. Additionally, regulatory certainty represents an important factor for investors to ensure business sustainability in Indonesia. This approach is crucial to reassure investors that investment in Indonesia is secure and profitable.
Efforts to attract foreign investment are also being undertaken by Danantara, which is strengthening cooperation with world-class foreign partners as part of President Prabowo’s successful economic diplomacy. One promising Danantara investment opportunity is in the “waste to energy” sector, expected to drive growth and create employment opportunities.
The discussion on Indonesia’s efforts to attract foreign investment was featured on CNBC Indonesia’s Power Lunch programme on Wednesday, 25 February 2026, with Syarifah Rahma interviewing Mukhamad Misbakhun, Chair of Commission XI of the House of Representatives.
