Tensions in the Middle East that have yet to subside are not only disrupting the global energy supply chain and driving up international crude oil prices but also threatening the distribution of food commodities, including supplies of fertiliser raw materials.

For Indonesia, the Director General of Infrastructure and Facilities at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, Andi Nur Alamsyah, has assured the government’s readiness to anticipate the impacts of the Iran vs US war. One of the measures includes ensuring the security of imported fertiliser raw material supplies and improving the distribution of subsidised fertilisers domestically.

In efforts to maintain the security of fertiliser supplies, the government is enhancing the distribution and availability of subsidised fertilisers through PT Pupuk Indonesia by diversifying sources of fertiliser raw materials, so that farmers do not need to worry.
