In the EV Transition in Mining Industry Outlook 2026, President Director of PT Gaya Makmur Mobil, Frankie S. Makaminang, outlined the prospects and challenges of developing electric vehicles (EVs) in Indonesia amid global economic and geopolitical turbulence. PT Gaya Makmur Mobil (GMM) is the sole distributor in Indonesia for trucks from China-based FAW (First Automobile Works) since 2009, selling units such as dump trucks, tractor heads, and cargo trucks for the mining, logistics, and construction sectors. Currently, GMM not only supplies diesel vehicles but is also entering the EV market for mining. The EV Transition in Mining Industry Outlook 2026 is expected to serve as a collective step to support the energy transition programme through EV development.
