Video: Mayor Tri Adhianto and Bekasi City's Strategy to Generate Electricity from Waste
Bekasi Mayor, Tri Adhianto Tjahyono, has confirmed the city government’s support for the success of National Strategic Projects (PSN) in the Bekasi City area, West Java. In Bekasi City, PSN projects include the LRT, high-speed rail, and a drinking water pipeline network, all of which are progressing smoothly thanks to communication between the Bekasi City Government, the West Java Provincial Government, and the Central Government. One of the national projects currently underway is the Waste-to-Energy (PSEL) project, also known as a waste-to-energy power plant (PLTSa). The Bekasi City Government has prepared 6.1 hectares of land for the PSEL site, which will be equipped with green spaces like a mini zoo, and land maturation is currently in progress. However, the construction of the PSEL still faces challenges related to social factors and safety threats such as landslides and fires, considering the extremely high load on the Bantar Gebang landfill.
