Video: Mangrove Rehabilitation Without State Budget, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Invites Private Sector and SOEs
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries through the Directorate of Utilisation of Coastal Areas and Small Islands (P4K) continues to promote the implementation of mangrove area rehabilitation to restore coastal ecosystems and enhance community economies. Director of Coastal Areas and Small Islands (P3K) of KKP, Ahmad Aris, stated that mangrove ecosystem rehabilitation, which has rehabilitated 34 hectares of mangroves in 2025 and reached 2,112 hectares in 18 provinces throughout 2020-2025. In the future, the focus of mangrove rehabilitation is primarily in NTT to support the National Strategic Programme (PSN) for Salt in Rote Ndao with a target of 600 hectares. In efforts to increase the success of mangrove rehabilitation, KKP encourages community participation and ensures social-economic feasibility. In addition, KKP also promotes collaboration in financing, including the utilisation of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programmes from both SOEs and private companies as well as NGOs (Non-Governmental Organisations).
