Video: Local Electric Motorcycles Support Prabowo's MOLINAS, Ready to Meet 60% TKDN Requirement
The National Electric Motorcycle (MOLINAS) programme, along with its supporting ecosystem, has been officially launched by the government. The initiative aims to increase the independence of Indonesia’s electric vehicle industry, reduce dependence on imported fuel, and lower vehicle costs for the Indonesian people.
Raditya Wibowo, CEO & Founder of Maka Motors, views the MOLINAS programme as a significant milestone for the long-term development of the electric motorcycle industry. However, he noted that the industry requires certainty regarding the programme’s implementation and the specific role of local players within the electric motorcycle ecosystem.
Maka Motors has confirmed its readiness to meet the 60% Domestic Component Level (TKDN) requirement through a strategy of strengthening local assembly, increasing local Research and Development (R&D), and utilising local supply chains.
Nevertheless, the industry emphasises the importance of ensuring a domestic supply of electric batteries to meet the 60% TKDN regulation, given that the availability of nickel-based electric batteries remains a significant challenge at present.
