Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - CNBC Indonesia held the Health Insurance Ecosystem Forum 2026 with the theme “Restructuring the Health Insurance Ecosystem: New Regulations, Cost Control, and Service Model Transformation” as a forum for regulators, associations, and insurance professionals to find solutions to encourage the growth and accelerate the transformation of the health insurance industry in Indonesia.
Director of Legal and Compliance at AIA Financial, Rista Qatrini Manurung, stated that the Health Insurance Ecosystem Forum 2026 fully supports the government’s move to implement a Coordination of Benefits (CoB) system between private insurance and BPJS Kesehatan in covering the medical costs of participants.
The CoB, also known as the Coordination Between Insurance Providers (KAPJ), is being prepared for implementation with BPJS Kesehatan as the primary payer and Additional Health Insurance (AKT) as the secondary payer, which will pay the difference in medical costs.
Meanwhile, Director of Referral Health Service Governance at the Ministry of Health, Ockti P. Rahayuningtyas, said that the KAPJ scheme is a government strategy to maintain balance between the needs of patients, hospitals, BPJS Kesehatan, and private insurance companies.
