Video: Industrial Estates Need Regulatory Easing to Boost Competitiveness
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Kawasan Industri Makassar (KIMA) Acting President Director R.B Alexander Chandra Irawan said KIMA has the potential to become an investment hub for nickel downstreaming and the electric-vehicle (EV) ecosystem. However, investors are also concerned about the market’s potential, which remains focused on Java.
With support from the government and relevant stakeholders, KIMA is optimistic about helping to build an economic growth centre in eastern Indonesia. One focus is agro-industry and fisheries at KIMA Maros in South Sulawesi, in support of the national food self-sufficiency programme.
The industrial estate operator hopes to be given greater scope to address regulatory and licensing issues, making it easier for investors to invest in KIMA.
